A while back an individual came out swinging in the MM Romance community.
It wasn’t pretty, or nice, and in fact, it hurt many people.
One comment revolved around the fact that no Gay Men were writing romance. That made me furious because for years I’ve sought out other gay men who write romance (and all the various subgenres), and there are mobs of us out there.
So, on that note, I have a very long list of guys who write all types of MM Romance, and each month I’ll be writing up a review and rating one of their projects, and then posting them all over the place in hopes that all of you can see how many there are of us!
And this list isn’t inclusive, there are gaggles more.
All you gotta do is go look.
And I’ll challenge folks this year. If you like to read MM Romance (Contemporary, Dark, Taboo, Historical, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Urban Fantasy, Horror – honestly there are so many different kinds), take a moment to examine who you read. Are you reading any books written by the men who live these stories? If you don’t, go seek them out.
Give the men some equal footing. I guarantee that you’ll find some incredible, under-represented, and unknown authors who are incredible storytellers.
