Writing Update: Signed Contracts and Audiobook Release

A lot of good stuff has been happening lately.

Good stuff indeed.

There’s a new novel coming, hopefully later this year (think December), although that’s still to be determined. Due to the pandemic, everything is turning just a little slower. And that’s okay. We all need to take some time for ourselves, regroup, rethink, settle into a new way of things and be okay with it all. And that’s not easy.

So, be kind to everyone you meet – that’s not easy to do these days.
Take all the mental health breaks you need – 2020 is pulling some hard punches.
Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, keep six feet away from everyone, and wear a mask when out in public. Not to be preachy, but, I want you all safe and healthy.

Now, contracts were signed?

Yes, peoples, they were! If you follow me on social media, then you’ll already know about it as I gushed everywhere. Summoned, has been signed with Ninestar Press and will be out later this year, maybe into the beginning of 2021.

Here’s the blurb (okay, I’m still working on it – but you’ll get the drift):

Devid Khandelwal desperately wanted to experience the supernatural. After years of studying everything from crystals to tarot to spellcasting, nothing had ever happened that would have told him the Shadow Realm was real. And that killed Devid. As a last-ditch resort, he purchases a Summoning Board, an occult tool that would grant him his ultimate Desires.

Cameron Habersham is Devid’s best friend. Cam loves Devid like a brother and would do anything for him, as long as he looked good doing it and it got him dates. So when Dev asked him to perform the Summoning Board’s ritual, he reluctantly agrees but knew nothing would come of it. Nothing ever did.

Within a day of the spellcasting, Dev and Cam’s lives are turned upside down as wishes start to come true. They discover witches, werewolves, and fae living alongside humans and learn that existence isn’t always peaceful. Magic energy could be found everywhere, but not everyone used it for good. Dev finally gets to see the Shadow Realm for which he yearned, but realizes not everything or everyone has the best intentions at heart. Cam ends up on the wrong side of everything.

The old adage is true: Be careful what you wish for.

It gets a little sexy at times, which is the first time I’ve written anything like this. But my beta readers have enjoyed it! I’m looking forward to this coming out.

Now, what has released? My Very First Audiobook!

My publisher, NineStar Press, offered this opportunity up to me and I was only too happen to participate. I ended up with a stellar narrator in Robbie A. Molinari. He did a fantastic job and really brought the characters of Magic or Die to life. Here’s the cover:

If you click here you can go to Magic or Die’s entry in Audible and give Robbie a listen.

I also had a fellow author friend, Baz Collins with Akewkon Media create a stunning video clip book trailer for Magic or Die’s audiobook release. Have a look:

And lastly, the writing continues. Look out for some updates soon on the sequel to Magic or Die, called Blood and Sacrifice.

That’s all for now – stay safe, stay healthy, and be kind.
